Division Of Forest Due To Human Intervention

The earth is home of millions of species. Just one dominates it, us and environment. Our cleverness, our inventiveness and our activities have modified almost every part of our planet. One of the major on which , humans are depended for their lives is forest, whether it is directly or indirectly.

Forest are dynamic, versatile living system, they are continually changing. Human always have, had, will continue to have a huge hand to the change.

The human interventions includes: Conversion of forest land agricultural uses: This takes place on small scale as well as on large scale. The farmers are cleaning the forest to open land to feed themselves and their families. It also takes place on large scale with programs planned and implemented .by government to increase agricultural production.

13 million hectares of forest have been converted for other uses or destroyed by natural cause. while I am writing this, almost 3 hectares have been cleared and if the population rate is going to remain the same the demand for land, food will be double by 2050 and triple at least by the end of this century.

Another type of conversion of forest land is for infrastructure development such as road, highways, buildings , hydroelectric power plants. dam construction , mining operations and other infrastructure development activities.

What factors causes forest to change? How might human alter the course of change?

Industrialization and urbanization are the two most affecting factor on the part of human intervention on the Division of the forest.

Harvesting forest for timber: harvesting represent an important component of the global loss of forest cover, but it is difficult to make a precise estimate of the extent of deforestation because timber companies only remove trees of the valuable commercial species.
